An established artist and ceramicist, Julie Wawirka, has at the time been sculpting and throwing large vessels forms in clay when the need for a new home sink and the desire to make it herself led to the beginning of a career in the bath industry. Dissatisfied with the ceramic sinks she had seen and with the knowledge that one would most likely break; Julie entered the world of bronze casting. Creating a piece using bronze, an ancient art from dating back to 3,000 B.C. and still used today by artists really appealed to Julie because it would allow her to expand upon her fine arts background.
